Sims 3 Mac Unable To Start GameMac

Apr 26, 2013  So that what happend when i wanted to play the sims 3 unable to start game service initialization failedunable to start game service initialization. If you are experiencing the following error: 'Cannot start the process when the game is running. Please quit the game and try again' you are most likely on a Mac with unsupported graphics for The Sims 3. This appears to be happening on the 2015 MacBook Airs with Intel HD 6000 and the 2015 13'.

I uninstalled Sims 3 and WA then reinstalled Sims 3, ran it to make sure it worked and then installed WA.
It's worked out for me so far, but what sucks is that the stuff I downloaded from the store won't install into my game..
I think I may have to install it with the original Sims 3 disc in and basically fool my computer into thinking I'm only wanting to play the original game? Then if the install works I can try and play WA with the previous CC?
    Does that sounds not right?

I did a search and found this information to be very helpful.
'Note: This problem also happens with the patch for the vanilla game.
    'First off:
If you have been having issues saving, please be advised that the way we have saved games in the past has changed with WA and that EA people are trying to fix it, and should be released soon.
    Second:
If you have been getting 0x6224dd27 at start up here is what you have to do to fix it.
Service Initialization Error (0x6224dd27) follow these steps to fix it.
1.) Cut The Sims 3 Folder from the EA folder in my document (That has your games)
2.) Save it to The Desktop or a Saving Device (i saved it in a saving device to make sure i didn't loose anything.
3.) W/o the old Sims 3 folder run the game (it should work)
4.) A new folder should be in the old one's place.
5.) Delete the following 5 from the new folder and replace it with your old folders: ScreenShots, Recorded Videos, Downloads, Saves, and SavedSims.'
Myself, I also copied my options.ini not to have to reconfigure all my settings to my liking.

I Hope This Helps. GOOD LUCK!

Thank you! This worked when nothing else did.

My game will now run, just as slow as ever and it will probably still crash if I try to play my legacy save, but the game ran

    But after all tyvm.
Let me explain how my problem started, i installed a house and i didnt know it had a lot of cc with it, i dont like using a lot of space for it so i decided to delete some of that cc, i did, after a while i got this error, and well..came to find a solution and apparently this is the only one, i tried a lot of other things but they didnt work.

I had the same problem. But I didn't download the Halloween pack from the store. After I got that message I got a message saying to upgrade Adobe from its previous version. Please Help!!!(P.S I have a PC Windows 7. And have Sims3 not expansion packs)
  • edited April 2011
same here. Sims 3 no expansion. I just installed the latest update and I got the error message:
unable to start game service initialization failed (0x039e8474)
Game ran fine before I installed update.
All System specs are more than good enough.
checked for problems with direct x
moved sims 3 folder from my documents and that didn't work either.
I can't believe this thread is 3 years old..

I had the same problem until I tried this fix:
For the sims 3 Showtime and the patch 1.31 I launched the game as administrator and used the application TS3EP06.exe found in mycomputer/electronicarts/game/bin

Hi. I am having the same problem with this on my PC. I recently upgraded to Windows 10, and I just installed World Adventures from my friends Origin account, and now i have the service initialization problem. I was wondering how I would save my EA folder to something else besides my desktop because it wont let me do that. @nuna504
